Different First/Business Class variation on the Hawaiian Airlines
Not all business/first class seats are created equal. The seats can varies by airlines and plane type. For the journey back from Honolulu to San Diego, we had to book the airplane tickets 3 times finally getting the seats that we wanted. First it was from Honolulu to San Diego on the old Airbus A321neo with the 2-2-2 configuration recliner seats. We then switched to the Airbus A330 also with the 2-2-2 configuration but with lie-flat seats. It was only offered on the HNL to LAX route. Finally we had to switch again, this time to the new modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with the Leihoku suits to get the ultimate seats that we wanted. These seats are in the 1-2-1 configuration with doors to make it a suite. We had to fly into Los Angeles from Honolulu and then rent a car to drive back down to San Diego for this flight, but it was worth it indeed. We had experience one of the best airline business seats from an US airline.
