2025 Summer Trip to Taiwan with Stops in Seoul and Honolulu all in Business Class

Back in San Diego and wrapping up the most comfortable travel I ever had. I gone from never flown in business class before to all business class for the entire trip thanks to a few credit cards.

Flight #1: Starlux Business Class from Ontario to Taipei where I basically got the whole business section to myself. It was the best service in the air and I even got a whole bathroom to myself.

Flight #2: Korean Air Business Class from Taipei to Seoul in their "secret" room seats on the new Boeing 777. Basically a room on the plane to ourselves. They product changed us at the last minute but better setup.

Flight #3: Hawaiian Airlines First Class from Seoul to Honolulu. It was their old business seat setup but still with lie flat seats. The dinner and breakfast were actually surprising good.

Flight #4: Hawaiian Airlines First Class from Honolulu to Los Angeles on their new modern Dreamliner 787 with doors.

• 75,000 x 2 ppl = 150,000 on StarLux from ONT to TPE value at $7,000

• 30,000 x 2 ppl = 60,000 on Korean Air from TPE to ICN value at $966

• 65,000 x 2 ppl = 130,000 on Hawaiian Airlines from ICN to HNL value at $4,400

• 40,000 x 2 ppl = 80,000 on Hawaiian Airlines from HNL to LAX value at $1,580

Using a total of 420,000 Alaska Atmos points to get almost $14,000 in value (3.3 cents per point).

Most of the points were acquired from SUB (Sign Up Bonus) from opening American Express credit cards and transferring the American Express points to Hawaiian Airlines points and then to Alaska Airlines points. This transfer method is no longer available.
