Is the Card Worth It After the 1st Year Sign Up Bonus?

If you fly United at least once a year with a companion, the $160 baggage fee coverage pays for the $150 annual fee.

$40 per bag x 2 per way x 2 person = $160 baggage fee.

If you don’t fly United, the $100 ($50x2) United Hotel credit + $60 ($5x12) rideshare credit can help offset the $150 annual fee.

  • United Airlines points are not as valuable as other airlines, like Alaska Airlines or American Airlines points.
