Best Business/First Class Flights We Have Ever Flown On
Here are our list of the best business/first class we have ever flown on. These rankings are based on our experiences. Rankings as of May 2026.
#9 Alaska Airlines First Class on Embraer E175 from San Diego (SAN) to Las Vegas (LAS) in 2025.
Eugene’s first “First Class” experience on an American domestic flight from San Diego to Las Vegas on an Alaska Airlines flight. It was only a 1 hour flight but being able to onboard and deboard first was a unique experience. It offered 2 checked baggages instead of the just 1 and was the reason why Eugene upgraded this flight to save on baggage fees.
#8 Asiana Airlines Business Class on Airbus A380 from Tokyo (NRT) to Seoul (ICN) in 2026.
First time on board the Airbus A380, the largest passenger plane in the world. It had 2 decks, 4 engines, and features the “Business Staggered” configuration means that some business class seats were closer to the window and more private than other business class seats. For these seats, it often is better to select odd number seats. This was a 2.5 hour flight from Tokyo to Seoul and they were able to serve a lunch meal.
#7 Asiana Airlines Business Class on Airbus A380 from Seoul (ICN) to Los Angeles (LAX) in 2026.
Again on the Airbus A380, the largest passenger plane in the world. This was the 2nd leg of the Tokyo to Los Angeles route with a 28 hour layover in Seoul. The Asiana Airlines A380 business class was very old. I would say the Asiana Airlines food on the way back from Asia was actually slightly better than the Singapore Airlines business class food offerings on the way to Asia. It was a full flight, even in business class. Eugene had to make his own bed onboard and the service was kind of limited. Never the less, it was better than flying 12 hours in economy class.
#6 Hawaiian Airlines First Class on Airbus A330 from Seoul (ICN) to Honolulu (HNL) in 2025.
Hawaiian Airlines First Class from Seoul to Honolulu. It was their older 2-2-2 business seat setup but still with lie flat seats. The dinner and breakfast were actually surprising good. They handed out iPad for the entertainment option. The service was wonderful and better than most American airlines. It was probably better to travel as a couple on this business class seat setup.
#5 Korean Air Prestige Business Class on Boeing 777-300ER from Taipei (TPE) to Seoul (ICN) in 2025.
Korean Air Business Class from Taipei to Seoul in their "secret" room seats on the new Boeing 777. They only had 4 of these business class seats on the plane and it was right behind the First Class cabin. Basically a room on the plane to ourselves, better than normal business class seats but not as good as the first class seats. We originally was booked on an older plane but they product changed us to this at the last minute. An upgrade if you are able to book these seats.
#4 All Nippon Airways (ANA) Business Class on the Boeing 787-8 from Tokyo (HND) to Los Angeles (LAX) in 2026.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) was another one of those airlines ranked as one of the best in the world. The flight Christina was on was an older product on the Boeing 787. It was in the “Business Staggered” configuration means that some business class seats were closer to the window and more private than other business class seats. For these seats, it often is better to select odd number seats. The food was wonderful according to Christina. The bathroom was very unique. It had a window and offer the Japanese style bidet toilet seat.
ANA is in the process of upgrading their 787 business class to the “The Room FX”, a newer product seat. Perhaps next time we will be able to book one of these.
#3 Singapore Airlines Business Class on the Boeing 777-300ER from Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo (NRT) in 2026.
Singapore Airlines Business Class offers a premium experience featuring 1-2-1 seating layout for direct aisle access, fully flat beds (78-79 inches), and gourmet dining, including the "Book the Cook" service. It is consistently ranked among the world's best.
Named as one of Asia’s best airline, Singapore Airlines business class doesn’t disappoint. The seats were huge and comfortable and the service was great. The flight we were on was a “fifth freedom” flight means they don’t flight in or out of their country of origin. It was a Singapore flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo. Perhaps this was one of the reason the on board meal was not as good as expected. Even the “Book the Cook” food we ordered ahead of time was just OK. Besides the food, everything else was great. My seat had some issue laying flat so they gave me another seat across the aisle by the window. When it comes to bedtime, the crew came back offering to turn the seat into a bed.
Had the food been better, it would have been one of the best buisiness class flights. The service and seats were great. The seat was one of the biggest seats I have ever sat in.
#2 Hawaiian Airlines First Class (Leihoku Suites) on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from Honolulu (HNL) to Los Angeles (LAX) in 2025.
Leihōkū Suites are Hawaiian Airlines' premium business class seats on their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring a 1-2-1 layout, sliding privacy doors, and lie-flat beds inspired by Polynesian voyaging. These suites offer direct aisle access, wireless charging, and large 4K entertainment screens. The cabin is designed with island-inspired lighting and textures.
Who knew an American airline business class would be this good. The best “American” airline business class is with Hawaiian Airlines’ Leihoku seats on their new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Even though this was only a short 5 hour flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles, we had one of the best experiences on board a plane. During this short 5 hour flight, they served us both dinner and breakfast and the food was “surprising good” coming from an American airlines. The door fitted suite and the fact it was new made the experience even better.
#1 Starlux Business Class on Airbus A350-900 from Ontario (ONT) to Taipei (TPE) in 2025.
Eugene’s first and still the best business class of all the airlnes. From the moment Eugene walked on to the plane, he was greeted with “Mr. Chiang”. Perhaps it was the flight, but Eugene pretty much got the whole business class cabin to himself, he even got his own private bathroom on board. Everything on board was wonderful from all the complementary cocktails to the lobster dinner served on real plates and silverware. Even the midnight beef noodle soup snack was good.
After the wonder dinner service, the flight crew came back to offer to make his bed while he changed into his complementary luxury Paul Smith’s pajamas and slippers. The seats converted into fully lie-flat beds but the most comfortable feature was the “Zero-G” seat mode, a NASA-inspired recline setting designed to reduce body pressure. It was like sitting in a massage chair on a plane.
The breakfast was equally as impressive. Although it was only porridge, it was one of the best breakfast he ever had on a plane. The flight crew keep on coming back asking Mr. Chiang if he wanted more. Good thing he had his own private bathroom on board as he probably went to the bathroom at least a dozen times on that flight from all the complementary cocktails, tea, coffee, and snacks he had on board.
After this wonder experience, Mr. Chiang was sold on business class flights. He doesn’t think he could ever go back to economy class long haul flights again.
