2024 Thanksgiving Downtown LA Trip

3 nights, 3 hotels, and our favorite hotel is... ???

Day 1 - Intercontinental Hotel

Day 2 - Proper Hotel

Day 3 - Hotel Perla

The total bill for the InterContinental came out to $210 including taxes, tips, and resort fee. We even got free corner room upgrade, late 4pm checkout, and free breakfast with a view. We got $50 credit from AmEx Platinum and 25% off Thanksgiving deal for a hotel that normally would have cost $300/night.

The 2nd hotel (Hotel Proper) was basically free. It was originally $300/night but with the annual $200 AmEx Platinum hotel credit and $100 experience credit, it was basically free.

Our favorite hotel, Hotel Perla, cost around $280 including taxes and resort fee. It was the most expensive of all three hotels, but they gave us free upgraded room with a bath tub and city view, $35 dinner credit to their famous hotel restaurant, free continental breakfast, and late 2pm checkout from using my AmEx Platinum card.

Our Favorite Hotel…

  • Best and the most comfortable bed: Intercontinental

  • Best hotel with a view: Intercontinental

  • Best Location: Perla

  • Best Interior Design: Perla

  • Largest room space: Intercontinental

  • Best soap, body wash, shampoo, lotion: Proper

  • Best staff: Intercontinental

  • Best food: Perla

  • Best rooftop: Proper

  • Best Bang for the Buck: Proper. It was because of the $200 AmEx hotel credit and the $100 experience credit making this hotel basically free.

  • Best Instagramable hotel: Perla

  • The cheapest dinner: Intercontinental. But that was because we didn't want to spend $250 for their Thanksgiving 5 course meal.

  • Best hotel if you just want to get a good night sleep: Intercontinental. I think we got the whole floor to ourselves plus they gave us the corner unit all the way at the end.

Our favorite hotel is … Hotel Perla for its unique interior design, central location, and Instagramable mouthwatering dishes.
