Qantas Frequent Flyer Loyalty Program

Qantas Frequent Flyer

  • You should be able to get around 1.4 cents per point in value for economy class redemptions with your Qantas Points. Redeeming Qantas Points for business class will increase the value of your miles dramatically, often offering more than 3 cents per point in value.

  • Qantas charges a fee of AU$99.50 (about $70) to join its Frequent Flyer program. However, if you register via this application form, the fee is waived. The page states that free membership only applies to Australian citizens, but it also works for other countries.

  • Only these partners can be booked online: American Airlines, Air Vanuatu, Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern, Dragonair, Fiji Airways, Emirates, El Al, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Jetstar, LATAM, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines, and SriLankan Airlines.

  • You can’t book all Qantas partners online, so if the partner isn’t listed below, you need to call 800-227-4500 to book the award flight.

  • Point expire after 18 month of inactivity. Activity that will renew the expiration date of your points includes earning miles through flying, redeeming miles, transferring miles into your account, or earning points with a Qantas partner.

  • Canceling a Qantas award ticket costs 6,000 Qantas Points.

  • Changing your Qantas award flight requires availability on the flight you would like to change to and costs 5,000 Qantas Points.
